Bad breath, also called by the term halitosis. It can be a temporary problem or a chronic illness. According to the American Dental Association, at least 50 percent of adults have been pushed to biological limits.
Bad breath can be embarrassing and, in some cases, even annoying. Not surprisingly, shavings are filled with chewing gum, mints, mouthwash, and other breathing products. However, many of these products are only temporary because they do not address the source of the problem.
Bacteria break down food that sticks to your teeth or mouth. The combination of bacteria and rotten food in the mouth creates an unpleasant odor. The build-up of plaque can lead to tooth decay and periodontal disease. Bad breath can also be an issue if you do not brush your teeth and clean them every night.
When you eat onions, garlic, or other fragrant foods, your stomach absorbs the oils from the foods during digestion. These oils enter the bloodstream and enter the lungs.
This creates an odor that others can smell on your breath for up to 72 hours. Strong-smelling drinks like coffee can also cause bad breath.
Smoking a cigarette can cause a bad smell and dry mouth, which can make breathing worse.
Dry mouth can also occur when you don’t make enough saliva. Saliva keeps your mouth clean and reduces odor. A dry mouth can be a problem if you have salivary gland disease, sleep with your mouth open, or take certain medications.
Some of the reasons for breathing are certain foods, health conditions and habits. In most cases, you can improve the odor with dental consistency. If simple self-care techniques do not solve the problem, consult a dentist or doctor to prevent your asthma from getting worse.
